Café Blas

Café Blas is an established café in Pomeroy with a loyal local customer base, but its online presence wasn’t reflecting the personality, food or atmosphere behind the business.

We came on board to take full management of the café’s social media, introducing a consistent content strategy, regular on-site content creation and a refreshed visual direction designed to make the brand feel as warm, current and engaging online as it does in person.

Since then, social media has become an active part of the business, showcasing everything from the people behind the counter and everyday café moments to seasonal specials, catering and events.

The Problem

When we began working with Café Blas, the quality of the experience inside the café wasn’t being communicated consistently online.

Instagram posting was infrequent, with months sometimes passing between posts, while the newly created Facebook page had very little content. The feed relied heavily on food imagery, basic graphics and promotional updates, with little of the personality or day-to-day activity behind the business coming through.

Video content was particularly limited, with just five Reels shared between 2022 and 2025.

There was an opportunity to transform social media from an occasional noticeboard into an active extension of the café itself.

Key challenges included:

Our Approach

Our approach focused on transforming Café Blas’ social presence from occasional promotional posts into consistent, engaging content that reflected the personality of the café, its food and the community around it.

We introduced a structured monthly content strategy supported by regular on-site content sessions, giving the business a consistent bank of high-quality photography and video to use across Instagram and Facebook.

Building a Consistent Social Presence

We developed a more recognisable and cohesive presence across every piece of content, while expanding the existing brand assets to make them more flexible across digital platforms.

Putting People at the Heart of the Content

As a countryside café rooted in the local community, Café Blas’s biggest strength is its people. Rather than focusing solely on food and promotions, we built the content strategy around the team through personality-led Reels, trends and behind-the-scenes moments. This deepened connections with existing customers while introducing Café Blas to new audiences. By showcasing the atmosphere, personalities and experience behind the business, the content gives potential customers a compelling reason to visit.

Showcasing More Than the Menu

Our content strategy also focused on communicating the wider Café Blas offering, ensuring social media wasn’t limited to daily specials.

We created content around seasonal products, catering, events and new opportunities, including Café Blas’ catering partnership with Pomeroy Forest Park. We also identified opportunities to introduce the café to different audiences through relevant trends and products, including content around matcha.

The result is a social presence that feels much more like the café itself: welcoming, personal, community-led and worth making the journey for.

Bringing More of the Business Online

As the content strategy developed, social media became a way to showcase much more than the everyday café offering.

Seasonal Campaigns

We created content around seasonal products and occasions throughout the year, including festive fries, Christmas sandwiches and cheeseboards, Easter treats and Valentine’s Day promotions. This allowed Café Blas to respond quickly to seasonal opportunities while keeping campaigns consistent with the wider brand.

Catering & Events

Café Blas’ catering offering became another important part of the content strategy. Through its partnership with Pomeroy Forest Park, we attended an event to capture the catering experience in action, creating content that showcased a side of the business customers may not otherwise have been aware of.

Identifying Content Opportunities

Our ongoing involvement also allowed us to identify products and trends with the potential to attract new audiences. When matcha was available but wasn’t being actively promoted on the menu, we recognised an opportunity to bring it into the social content, helping highlight an offering that could appeal to a different customer demographic.

Google Business Profile

Beyond social media, we also refreshed and optimised the Café Blas Google Business Profile, updating photography and menu information while strengthening its local SEO presence. This helped create a more accurate and consistent experience for customers discovering the café through Google Search and Maps.

The Result

Through consistent content creation and full social media management, Café Blas has developed a much more active and recognisable online presence, driven entirely through organic content.

Content Performance

The result is a social presence that now feels much closer to the café itself: active, welcoming, personality-led and rooted in the local community.

Rather than relying primarily on promotional updates, Café Blas now has a consistent stream of original content that keeps the business visible while showcasing its food, people, catering and personality.

Don't Take Our Word for It

Working with Mark and Levina has been a fantastic experience. They created high-quality social media and website content that perfectly captured the energy and variety of our busy shopping centre and retail park. Their creativity, attention to detail, and understanding of our audience helped drive engagement online and increased foot traffic into the mall. Reliable, professional, and always full of fresh ideas - I couldn’t recommend them more highly.

Well what can I say....Creative Sweet is top class. You give them an idea and they make it a reality. What I love is that you don't have to re-explain what your business goal is or what you are driving a project towards. They remember everything from previous work and engineer their own spin on things. They have been working with us for years now and they almost manage the marketing and promotion on their own these days. Top Class!
